Ramona Lea Daft, 62, of Fairmont, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (Jan. 24, 2017) at the Select Specialty Hospital-Charleston, St. Francis, Charleston.
Ramona was born Sept. 7, 1954, in Sutton, to the late Cora Emma Riffle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Daft, who passed away Aug. 12, 2013, and a brother, Robert Riffle.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Charles (Cole) M. Smith of Heaters; sisters, Geneva Prince (Arch) of Strongville, Ohio, and Emma Riley of Burnsville; grandson, Jayden Smith; sister-in-law, Sue Buckhannon of Shinnston; and several nieces and nephews.
Ramona was a Methodist by faith and attended Berry Fork United Methodist Church. She was a telephone operator for Bell Atlantic and later for AT&T for approximately 20 years before she took retirement. She loved to read anything that she could get her hands on: magazines, newspapers and books. She loved to travel, especially to the beach. However, her main love was spending time with her family and those that she loved.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kay Lake officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Select Specialty Hospital-Charleston, 333 Laidley St., Charleston, WV 25301.
