Phyllis Joan "JoAnn" Lee, 69, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2017).
She was born in Fairmont to the late John Lucas Thomas and Claudia Inez (Dailey) Thomas on Oct. 23, 1947. JoAnn attended Fairmont Senior High School. She loved spending time with her family and friends which she also considered her family. Her dog Bella, was her best friend and never left her side.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending most of her time in the kitchen preparing large, amazing meals and feeding anyone who came for a visit. Her greatest joy was traveling to watch her daughter compete in martial arts tournaments all over the country and different parts of the world. She was very proud and would brag to anyone who would listen about her daughter's accomplishments. Joann's favorite thing to do would be to stay up late eating ice cream and watching movies with her granddaughter Alexis, which she referred to as "my bestest."
JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Franchescia Nicole "Nikki" Lee Morrison and husband Jarrod Maxen "Max" Morrison; sister, Johnette Denise Wolfe; grandchildren, Alexis Raine Satterfield, Danielle Hyman and husband Tanner Hyman, Jon Morrison, Sophia Morrison and Mason Morrison; great-grandchildren, Skyler Hyman and Caroline Hyman; sister-in-law, Penny Lee; several nieces and nephews, Vanessa Mancinotti-Tong and husband B. Tong, Paul "Packy" Mancinotti III, Desiree Albright, Clairanna (Lee) and Tom Orgill, Natalie (Lee) and Tony Beto, Joseph and LouAnn Lee, and Steven Lee, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, James Francis Lee; her sister, Connie Jean (Thomas) Mancinotti; her brother-in-law, Paul Mancinotti Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Patrick Lee (who sadly passed away on Oct. 3. 2017 also.)
JoAnn will be sadly missed by so many who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will forever be remembered for her delicious cooking, being a lover, being a giver, being stubborn and most importantly being strong!!
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, her body will be cremated and a double memorial service will be held honoring her and her late husband Jimmy Lee at a later date in their hometown of Fairmont.
