Pauline Rose Fluharty, 94, of Morgantown, formerly of Fairmont and Fairview, Punkin Center, passed away Thursday (May 12, 2016) at the Madison Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown.
She was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Wadestown, a daughter of the late Jesse and Elsie (Gadd) Fordyce.
Mrs. Fluharty was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Most recently, she enjoyed playing bingo and working puzzles.
Pauline is survived by her sons, Jarvis Eugene Fluharty and his wife Regina Sue of Fairmont, and Michael Charles Fluharty and his wife Kathy of Florida; her daughters, Jenny Johnson and her husband Richard of Morgantown, and Betty Hibbs and her husband Pastor Samuel Kelly of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Deborah Kerr, Steven Hibbs, Rhonda Sheets, Daniel Fluharty, Jarvis Fluharty, Buffy Delligatti and Tonya Fluharty; and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Norma Jean Swoyer of Ohio; Helen Haught, a close friend at Madison Nursing Center; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil "Dude" Jarvis Fluharty, in December 1995; two sisters, Edna Fluharty and Sylvia Moore; and five brothers, Bob Fluharty, Arthur Fordyce, Howard Fordyce, Marion Fordyce and Jess Fordyce.
Friends and family may call from 1-8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Samuel Hibbs, a son-in-law of the deceased, officiating. Interment services will follow at Haughts Cemetery in Monongalia County.
