Patricia "Patty"'s Story
Patricia "Patty" Ann (Baker) Ailstock, 79, of Fairmont, passed away on Monday (Nov. 7, 2016) at the Tygart Center of Fairmont.
She was born in Marion County, on Jan. 26, 1937, a daughter of Cecil Alden Baker and Mary Grace (McVaney) Baker.
Patty graduated from East Fairmont High School.
She had worked at Westinghouse Lamp Plant and retired from the Times West Virginian in circulation department.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed camping, traveling, going to craft shows and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a gentle soul who always had a smile on her face.
Patricia is survived by her son, Marc Ailstock and his wife Jennifer of Fairmont; three daughters, Darla May and her husband Hubert May of Windsor, Pennsylvania, Carla May and her husband Mike of Fairmont, and Rebecca Bunner and her husband Phillip of Fairmont; her grandchildren, Tanisha Ailstock, Cassi Ailstock, Andrea Bennett and her husband Branden, Jessica May, Carissa Haymond and her husband, Matthew, Lauren Judy and her husband Jared, Cody Bunner and his wife Meredith, Janelle Ailstock, Cory Bunner and Tara Ailstock.
Also surviving is her brother, Rudy Baker and his wife Carol of Bridgeport, and a special friend, Latisha Mitchell, who was her live-in care taker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Eugene Ailstock in June of 2010; two sons, Randy Lee Ailstock and Richard Eugene Ailstock; a brother, Cecil "Sonny" Baker; and two sisters, Sandra Sheranko and Erma Jean Ailstock.
Mrs. Ailstock's family wants to thank the Tygart Center, who took wonderful care of their Mom.
Friends and family may call from 5-9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Minister Norman Floyd officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
