Michael E. Pickering, 29, of Fairmont entered Heaven with loving arms around him, on Monday (March 13, 2017).
He was born in Morgantown on Oct. 23, 1987, a son of Shelia (Benson) Ledsome and Cecil Ledsome of Fairmont.
He was a wonderful son, father and brother. Michael was a very caring, loving, kind and giving person. Michael was a talented artist and cook. He enjoyed country and rock music especially Johnny Cash. He enjoyed bugging-out in the woods with a crackling fire and a fishing pole.
Most of all he loved spending time with his "Baby Bear" Olivia Pearl, he cherished every moment he had with her, she was his life. He also enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends
Michael attended East Fairmont High School. He served in the United States Army. He was most recently employed as a landscaper and with American Homes in Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Olivia Pearl Pickering of Rivesville; his sister, Kayla Ledsome Satterfield and her husband Justin, their children, Hunter and Tyler all of Barrackville; stepbrother and stepsisters, Eric Ledsome of Baxter, Misty Ledsome of Fairmont and Heather Ledsome Allen and six half siblings.
Also surviving is his favorite uncle, Steve Benson and his wife Macon of Snow Hill Maryland; his grandparents, Raymond Benson of Florida and Earl Pickering, Sr. of Ohio and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by, his grandmothers, Jessie Pearl Benson and Virginia Pickering and an uncle Raymond Benson.
Friends and family may call from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Ray officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
