Mary Gayle Conaway Tennant, 82, of Mapleshire Nursing & Rehab Center in Morgantown, formerly of the Wadestown area, died Tuesday (Sept. 13, 2016) in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Fairview, a daughter of the late Presley "Stub" Shriver and Corral "Toy" Broadwater Shriver.
Mary Gayle worked as the manager of the Y Restaurant and Lounge in Blacksville for many years. She was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are two brothers and their spouses, Dave Shriver and Linda of Pataskala, Ohio and Danny Shriver and Sandy of Rivesville; two sisters and their spouses, Jean and Glenn Evans of Mount Morris, Pennsylvania and Debbie and Ron Jarrell of Fairmont; numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law and her spouse, Janice Foley and her husband George of Miracle Run; and a special friend, Katie Straight.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph "Bud" Shriver; and her husband, Alan Tennant.
At the request of the deceased her body will be cremated and there will be no public services. All services will be private and will held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosenbaum Family House, 30 Family House Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
