Mary Eleanor Moore, 86, of Bula, died Monday (Feb. 27, 2017) in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born March 4, 1930, at Bula, a daughter of the late Ralph Sanders and Aileen Louise McQuaid Sanders.
Mary Eleanor retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was the postmaster of the Wana Post Office for many years. She was a member of the Bula Baptist Church. Mary was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School Class of 1947.
Surviving are one son and his spouse, Leslie D. and Rowena Moore of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania; one daughter and her spouse, Nancy and Richard Walker of Daybrook; two brothers and spouses, George and Loretta Sanders of Bula and Thomas Sanders of Wadestown; four grandchildren, David, Heather, Mandi and Megan; and six great-grandchildren, Faithlynn, Sydney, Micah, Jordan, Logan and Gavin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Varner L. "Bud" Moore; one brother, James Sanders; and one sister, Nancy Miller.
The family would like to thank the oncology staff of Mon General Hospital, Dr. Azar and the infusion team for the love that they gave to Mary during her time in the hospital.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
