Mary Elizabeth Boothe, 79, of Fairmont passed away Saturday (Oct. 8, 2016) at the Tygart Center, Fairmont Campus.
She was born May 16, 1937, in Kanawha County to the late Delbert and Lula Morris Boggs.
She was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a Baptist by faith. Mary enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Drema Knight and her husband Gary of Fairmont; four sons, Kevin Boothe and his wife Elsie of Seagrove, North Carolina, Dana Boothe and his wife Janet of Asheboro, North Carolina, Dan Boothe and his wife LaVonne of Beckley and Jason Boothe of Randleman, North Carolina; five grandsons, Justin McCumbers and his wife Shondra of Sutton, Adam Gilbreath of Fairmont, Tobey Knight and his wife Autumn of Clarksburg, Travis Boothe of Morgantown and Alex Boothe of Beckley; three great grandchildren, Krista Huffmaster, Logan Huffmaster and Carter Knight; and one great granddaughter, Darian Huffmaster; one brother, James Boggs of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded by four brothers, Virgil, Clyde, John and Dennis Boggs and a sister Mildred Brundage.
Friends and family will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday and will be officiated by Pastor Jim Zinn. In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to a charity of choice.
