Martha Jane Huff Martin, 87, a resident of the Woodlands Assisted Living Center in Hutchinson, and formerly of No. 9, Farmington, died Saturday (July 30, 2016) following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Enterprise, a daughter of the late Oral Elzie and Catherine Hartzell Huff.
Martha was formerly employed at the Drapery Factory in Mannington and was a homemaker. She loved quilting, camping, fishing, ceramics and genealogy. Family was the priority of her life and she enjoyed her family gatherings. She was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Wayne (Stanis) Martin of Rivesville, Timothy Lane (Lisa) Martin of Cullhowee, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Heather Elane Shoulders, Erin Farye Wood, Lane Alexander Martin and Todd Hudson Martin; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Faye Shoulders, Austin Hunter Wood, Hunter Wilson Wood and Steven Thomas Shoulders; two brothers, Robert Lee "Sam" Huff of Virginia and John Leonard Huff of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Martin; a sister, Mildred "Mickey" Maxwell; and two brothers, Donald Gene "Buck" Huff and Oral David "Jody" Huff.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington.
