Margaret Elizabeth Shamblen, 84, of Rachel, passed away Wednesday (Sept, 7, 2016) at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born July 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Peter and Anna Pleva Zogol.
Margaret retired from Westinghouse/Philips Lighting after 50 years of service. A loving mother and grandmother, her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was also a member of the Downs United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Lucinda (David) Glance of Rachel; five grandchildren, Brianna and Dan Renshaw, Brandon and Sunshine Glance, Brittany and Jeremy Barber, Shannon Gilbert, and Shania and Jeremy Hobson; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Olga "Josephine" Short of Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shamblen; and her siblings, John Zogel Sr., Peter Zogel Jr., Ann Jimmie, Rose Doshen and Catherine Kanoski.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Reverend Randy Vincent officiating. Interment will follow at the Viewpoint Cemetery in Rachel.
