Margaret's Story

Margaret "Peggy" Leah Myers of St. Barbara Nursing Home started a new journey with her heavenly family on Tuesday (July 11, 2017) with her daughter Lisa and her brother John at her side.
She was born in Fairmont, on March 4, 1944, a daughter of the late John A. Myers Sr. and Ada (Martin) Myers.
Peggy previously worked at Parkette Drive-In and the bakery at Community Foodland. She retired from McDonald's in West Fairmont after 26 years of service.
Nothing was more precious to Peggy than her family. She loved large family gatherings where she entertained her family with funny stories.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Boyce and her husband Leonard of Fairmont; her brothers, John A. "Buck" Myers Jr. and his wife Rose of Fairmont and Larry D. Myers of Lost Creek; a sister-in-law, Deborha Myers of Charleston; and her fur grandchildren, Trevor and Paige.
Also surviving are her nieces and nephews and their children, Chris Myers and his wife Bobbi and their children Brody and Bree of Charleston, Michelle Catersino and her husband Eric and their children Nola and Ada of Columbus, Ohio, Seth Myers, Drew R. Myers and his wife Brittany and their children Mason and Brylee of Fairmont, John R. "J.R." Estel and his daughter Kirsten of Marietta, Ohio, Angela Estel of Fairmont and her daughter Skylar Moats of Fairmont; two great-nieces, Morgan Crowder and Chloe Gallo; and special friends, Tammy and Bailey Baker.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Florence "Patsy" Estel; her brother, Harvey L. "Butch" Myers; a nephew, David Estel; two brothers-in-law, Wayne Estel and Joseph Nutter; and a great-niece, Heather Estel.
Peggy's family would like to thank the staff of St. Barbara Nursing Home for their outstanding care of Peggy during her three-year stay. They became family to her.
Friends and family may call from 5-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home led by Melissa Lenhart and Rose Myers. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
