Mabel Katherine "Tootsie" Capet, 74, of Mannington, died Sunday (April 23, 2017) at Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Aug. 12, 1942, at Fairmont, a daughter of the late Eugene and Mabel L. Dunmire Capet.
She is survived by a brother, Robert Lynn Capet of Montana Mines; four sisters, Joyce Ann Moore of Mannington, Becky Garland of Fairmont, Nancy Hibbs and Sharon Martin, both of Mannington; seven nieces and nephews, Sandy Smith of Metz, John Capet of Barrackville, Joyce Ann Locke of Fairmont, Patty Parsley of Fairmont, Marsha Fluharty of Monongah, John Symenski of Colfax and Frank Symenski of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Deloris Capet, Mary Capet and Betty Holcomb, and a brother, Samuel Capet.
Mabel was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mannington. She enjoyed bingo, game shows, crafts, word-search puzzles and going on the nursing home's field trips.
The family wishes to thank the Fairmont Health & Rehabilitation Center and all the employees for the care given to "Tootsie" while she was a resident there, and "Tootsie" loved them all.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home in her memory.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Bush officiating. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Farmington.
