Linda Sue Ford, 71, of Fairmont, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday (July 19, 2017).
She was born in Fairmont, on July 21, 1945, a daughter of the late Perry Powell and Gladys (Powell) Powell.
Linda was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a past member of the VFW Post 7048 Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Ford; her son and daughter-in-law, Cecil "George" Guy and Susan Hardway; two grandchildren, Kersta and her husband Justen and Brent and his wife Desiree; and two special great-grandchildren, Regan and Renzy.
She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Swain of Charleston; four brothers-in-law, Donald Ford Jr., Randall Ford, Wayne Ford and Greg Ford; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Bearden and Lora Parrish; her former mother-in-law, Lenora Cowger; and her husband's stepmother, Peg Ford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Jimmy Cowger.
Linda's family would like to thank West Virginia Caring Hospice for their care and comfort during her final days.
Friends and family may call from 3-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Rex Musgrove officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
