Linda Louise Edwards, 74, of Cadet Street, Fairmont, passed away Tuesday evening in her residence.
She was born Jan. 17, 1943, in Davis, daughter of the late Ernest Glenn and Thelma Virginia Cassidy Raines.
Mrs. Edwards was a member of Tevebaugh United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Monongah High School. She became employed with Westinghouse in Fairmont and later worked at St. Barbara's Nursing Home in Monongah. She graduated from a medical assistant program in Clarksburg.
Linda will be remembered as an avid reader who also enjoyed catching the latest movie theater release. She eagerly followed West Virginia University Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers football, and the Morgantown Black Bears minor league baseball team. She loved her granddogs.
She admired the natural beauty of her beloved West Virginia. She was fun-loving and had an enthusiastic curiosity about people and places and enjoyed learning and sharing with others. She was a loving friend, sister, mother, dedicated Army wife and proud coal miner's daughter.
Survivors include her husband, Robert H. Edwards of Fairmont; two daughters and their husbands, Sherry and Chris Kirk of Springfield, Virginia, and Beth Edwards and Matthew Venskoske of Daniels; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Victoria Venskoske; two sisters and their husbands, Sharon and Roger Martin of Four States Community and Vickie and Frank Baker of Oceola, Ohio; two brothers and their spouses, Glenn and Martha Raines of Shinnston and Ernest and Kathleen Raines of Fairview; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Michael Raines of Tiffin, Ohio.
Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and noon-1 p.m. Saturday at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
