Leota Imogene Rager, 86, of Fairmont, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday (April 4, 2017).
She was born in Fairmont, on April 26, 1930, a daughter of the late William Henry Rager and Edith Opal (Hawkins) Rager.
Leota attended First Church of the Nazarene. She had worked as a sales clerk at G.C. Murphy and retired from Rider Pharmacy. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, doing word searches and reading. Most enjoyable to her were gatherings with her family, especially family reunions.
Leota is survived by her sister, Glenoka L. Bland and her husband Fred of Fairmont. Also surviving are her caring nieces and nephews, Deborah A. Dowling and her husband Andrew, Kimberly Ice, Michael Bland and his wife Kelly, Randy Rager and his fiancée Della, Timothy Rager and his wife Shirley, and Tanya Costelac and her husband Robert; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Nada (Satterfield) Rager.
The family would like to thank West Virginia Aging and her care-givers for their wonderful care of Leota.
Friends and family may call from 1-6 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike VanZant officiating. Interment will follow at the Ross Cemetery.
