Julia Romano, 87, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (May 15, 2016).
She was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Romano Yanero.
Julia was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She retired from Owens-Illinois and was an alumna of Fairmont Senior High School. Julia was known for goodness, kindness, wisdom and generosity to all. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include three nieces, Susan Colaneri Monell of California, Janet S. Salvati of Fairmont and Edith Feltz of Fairmont; a nephew, Thomas L. Salvati and wife Patricia of New Manchester; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews. She is also survived by four godchildren, Rena Feorene, Gregory Coniglio, Louie Coniglio and Lire Nick Coniglio.
In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by three brothers, Phillip Yanero, William Yanero and Gerald Yanero; and five sisters, Rose Yanero, Madalyn Salvati, Mary Romano, Philis Feltz and Frances Colaneri.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon David Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
