Julia Anne Gladwell-Jones, 87, passed away Thursday (March 23, 2017) at her home in Ocala, Florida, surrounded by her family.
Born in Dakota, on Sept. 1, 1929, she was the youngest daughter of the late Cecil Forest (Scotty) Gladwell and Marie Isner-Gladwell.
She was preceded in death by brother, James Scott Gladwell, and sister, Margaret Alice Gladwell-Moss.
Raised in Fairmont, she received her bachelor's degree in physical education from Fairmont State and her master's degree in education from the University of Florida. Her teaching career spanned a total of 39 1/2 years. She taught a variety of subjects in secondary schools and colleges, but her passion was physical education.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher Matthew Jones and Jon Grayden Jones; a daughter, Maria Anne Jones-Goff; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two first cousins.
She is an incredible woman who is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A private memorial service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your favorite medical organization, cancer research center or charity.
