Julia Ann Cimino, 90, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday (Aug. 31, 2016) at the Genesis Fairmont Campus Pierpont Center.
She was born on July 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Domenick and Catherine Jardine Egidi.
Julia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Samuel Cimino, who passed away in 2000.
Julia was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a 1943 graduate of East Fairmont High School. She was a former member of the Saint Monica Guild and enjoyed bowling with her friends. Julia retired in 2005 as a cook for the hot-lunch program at East Park Elementary. Prior to working at East Park, she had worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Plant and the Westinghouse Corp.
Julia is survived by her son, Richard E. Cimino of Fairmont; one brother, Romeo Egidi of Mannington; one sister, Irene Chicarelli and her husband Frank of Fairmont; two sisters-in-law, Rose Cimino and Marlyn Cimino; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Julia was preceded in death by three brothers, Louie Egidi, Joe Egidi and Eugene Egidi; and one sister, Josephine Pellegrin.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. A Catholic vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today with Sister Stella Cronauer, CSJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church - Marian Hall, 329 Maryland Ave., Fairmont, with Father Walter Jagela serving as celebrant. The committal service will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
