Josephine P. Bruno, 94, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2017, at Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1923, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Angelo and Raffaela Giasante Bruno.
Josephine retired from Fairmont General Hospital where she worked in the dietetics department. She was a longtime member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and was a loving sister and aunt to her family.
She is survived by her sister, Teresa (Bruno) Minico of Fairmont; her brother, Fred (Ann) Bruno of Long Island, New York; and a sister-in-law, Dee Vanetti of Fairmont. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Carmella Bruno, and three brothers Daniel and Frank Bruno and John Vanetti.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fairmont Health & Rehabilitation for their love, care and support of Aunt Jo during her 10-year stay at the facility. Special thanks to Renee, Julie Ann, Joyce, Brittany, Candy and Diane.
A graveside service will be held for Josephine at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Deacon David Lester officiating.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of the Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont.
In memory of Josephine, memorial donations can be made to the Fairmont Catholic School.
