John Harrison Revels Jr., 90, passed away early Thursday morning (June 29, 2017), at his home in Hutchinson.
"Junior" was born Nov. 6, 1926, in Wyatt, the son of the late Cora (Carder) Revels and John H. Revels Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (Pigott) Revels; two daughters, Ellen and husband Alan Henderson of Fairview, Joyce and husband John Radtka of Lost Creek; two sons Earl Revels of Hutchinson and Roy Revels of Ocracoke, North Carolina.
Junior was the last surviving member of his family. Along with his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his siblings, three brothers, Carl, Albert and Robert Lee Revels, and four sisters, Geraldine Arnold, Marguerite White, Louise Murphy and Virginia Brooks.
Junior served two years in the U.S. Army at the First Station Hospital in Kwanjue, Korea.
He retired from CSX Railroad after 43 years of service working as a trackman and later as a foreman. He was also a Steelers and Pirates fan.
The family would like to thank Hospice and especially Kirste, Karen, Jennifer, Rodney, Randy and Becca for the wonderful care and compassion they showed during this difficult time. They surely were a blessing.
