John "Johnnie"'s Story
John "Johnnie" Wesley Bonner, 42, of Fairmont, passed from this life on April 15, 2017 from a heart attack.
He was born on April 14, 1975, in Fairmont, the son of Cheryl L. Bonner of Fairmont and the late John W. Bonner.
Bonner was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was employed by the Marion County Board of Education for the last seven years and delivered newspapers for the Times West Virginian for the last nine years. He had also worked at Giant Eagle as a grocery manager. Johnnie received an award for being the best paper carrier for the Times West Virginian at an earlier age.
Johnnie graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1993 and was a member of the Busy Bee Band for four years, never missing a performance.
He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler with his many friends and family, specially his sons, whom he loved very much. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved fantasy football, NASCAR racing and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Johnnie will be remembered for how much he loved his family.
In addition to his mother, Johnnie is survived by his companion of 18 years, Mandy Waller; his sons, James Warren, a student at East Fairmont Middle School, and Jarren Wade Bonner at home; his sisters, Sherri Wilkins and her husband Will of Virginia and Stacey Bonner and her companion Dan of Fairmont; his nephews, Aaron Sanford and Camden Bonner of Fairmont; and several cousins.
Bonner was a very friendly young man, never knowing a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family may call from 1-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m until 1 p.m. Thursday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Burial will follow at Claremont Cemetery.
