John Michael Domico, 61, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday (July 21, 2016) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 6, 1954, in Fairmont, son of the late Louie "Scoogum" and MaryAnn (Bienkoski) Domico.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Shinnston American Legion. He was a coal miner for many years, retired from Bailey Prep Plant, and previously worked at Enlow Fork and Four States Coal Mines. John was an avid motorcyclist and car enthusiast, and was always generous and welcoming to new friends.
He is survived by his son, John Mathew Domico of Morgantown; two brothers, Gary Domico and Tim Domico and wife Patty; and one sister, Cindy Chism, all of Monongah; two nieces, Theresa Chism and Sean Lowther and Loucinda Moore and husband Eric; a great-niece, Elizabeth Moore; and three great-nephews, Alex Moore, Brandon Chism and Luke Chism.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lew Domico Jr.; a niece, Amber Nicole Domico; and his beloved German Shepherd, Jasmine.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Cemetery with full military rites being performed at graveside by the Marion County Veteran's Council. Monetary donations may be made in John's name to: Project Solidarity Food Bank and mailed to UMWA Region 1 at 135 Wayland Smith Drive, Uniontown, PA 15401.
