James "Jim" David Fleming, 66, of Rivesville, died Sunday (May 28, 2017) at his residence.
He was born May 30, 1950 in Fairmont, a son of the late Alvis Eugene Fleming and Margaret Mary Thomas Fleming. He is survived by 12 nieces and nephews Kevin, Leslie and Glenn Langdon, Heather Phillips, Eric Atchinson and Janette Clelland Atchinson, John, Bryan, Mark, Anthony and Ryan Fleming and Shelley Mowry; his aunt Helen Carpenter, many great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews; a brother in law David Atchinson; and a sister in law Sandra Fleming.
He was preceded in death by a brother John Fleming; two sisters Jean Phillips and Janet Atchinson; one niece Tara Leah Fleming; and one great-niece Avery Clelland.
Jim managed the family farm and was a diligent caretaker to his Aunt Julia Thomas and then to his parents. He was a graduate of Rivesville High School.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. The committal service will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Rivesville.
