Jacqueline's Story

Jacqueline Lee Mundell, 72, of McCurdysville, passed peacefully from this life Saturday (May 7, 2016) in her home under hospice care, after a long illness.
She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 10, 1944, a daughter of the late Eli Turken and Helen Holt.
Jackie was a member of the Jehovah's Witness church. She was a very loving and caring person who served as a care-giver most of her life including 15 years as a CNA at The Arbors at Fairmont Nursing Home. She enjoyed working with her flower gardens, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Mundell is survived by her sons, Walter and his wife Beth Mundell, and Lloyd W. Mundell, all of McCurdysville; her sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Bill Summers of Grant Town; seven grandchildren, Ashley Carpenter, Heather Mundell, Travis (Katie) Davis, Merissa Mundell, Christine, Kenneth and James Paul Mitchell; three great-grandsons, Malikki and Gaberial Ramage and Braxton Davis; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Steve) Weekley, Jimmy Hardway, Ginger Burns, Karen Hardway, Joyce Hardway and Tracy Keener; several great-nieces and -nephews; former daughters-in-law, JoAnn (Randy) Taylor of Rivesville and Tammy (Kenneth) Mitchell of Fairmont; and her faithful canine companion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Lloyd S. "Scotty" Mundell on Sept. 2, 2011; her stepfather, Woodrow Holt; a grandson, Corey Taylor; a sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Jack Hardway; her in-laws, Lloyd and Katie Mundell; and nieces and nephews, Lorenda Fisbeck, Duane Gianfrancesco, Bobby Knotts and Wanda Knotts.
Jackie chose to not have any funeral home visitation. A graveside service will be held at the McCurdysville cemetery at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Randy Taylor officiating.
A procession will leave the Frey Home For Funerals parking lot at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
