J. Maxine Lough, 82, of Fairmont, passed away on March 9, 2017, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
She was born on July 12, 1934, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Marshall C. Booth and Hattie A. Cottrill Booth.
She retired from John Manchin Sr. Health Care after 20 years of service in the housekeeping department. She enjoyed crocheting and working puzzles books. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Layman and her husband Mark of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Erica Bolick and her husband Chris of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Justin Layman and his wife Jennifer of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and three great-grandchildren, Adriana, Lucy and Shepard Layman.
Also surviving are a sister, Barbara Lough of Fairview; a brother, James Booth of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Booth Jr.; a brother-in-law, Harold Lough; and her former husband, Tracy Lough.
Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
