Helena E. Neff Mullen, 95, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (May 9, 2016).
She was born April 11, 1921, in Paden City, the daughter of the late Homer and Nora Magdaline Healey Neff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward Mullen.
Helena was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of The Baptist Temple of Fairmont. She was a member of the Fairmont Moose Lodge No. 9 Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer and leader for the Girl Scouts. She was a former home health aide in the Marion County area.
Helena is survived by her daughter, Leota "Jeanie" and Gregory Weaver of Conway, South Carolina; and her sons, Lawrence "Babe" Mullen of Yulee, Florida, Irvin and Pat Mullen of Streator, Illinois, and Dana Mullen of Pontiac, Illinois. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, including Jodi Palmer of Bruceton Mills; 21 great-grandchildren, including Christi Perrella of White Hall; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Magdalene Healy.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Detrick officiating. A private committal service will be held for the family at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fairmont at a later time.
