Genevieve G. Snoderly, 95, of Baxter, died Saturday (Oct. 29, 2016) at her residence.
She was born June 5, 1921 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Robert McCoy and Nellie Brumage McCoy. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lawrence Snoderly Sr., on Feb. 8, 2006.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn L. Snoderly Sr. of Baxter and Lynn L. and Carol Snoderly of Kingwood; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a son in law, Michael Jordan Jr. of Grant Town.
Mrs. Snoderly was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Snoderly and James L. Snoderly Jr.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Jordan and Bonnie Lou Snoderly; five brothers; and a sister.
Mrs. Snoderly was a homemaker and an active member of the Highlawns United Methodist Church in Rivesville. She was a former junior high Sunday school teacher, a conference delegate for the church, former choir member, secretary-treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society, volunteer for the church's vacation bible school and a volunteer for the Rivesville Samaritan House. She enjoyed gardening, working puzzles and playing the guitar and harmonica.
The family would like to thank the aides, nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice for their love and support over the last year. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd's Pantry at the Rivesville United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. The committal service will follow in the Brumage Cemetery in Ice's Run Community.
