Frances Virginia Prince, 88, of Bentons Ferry Community, passed away Thursday (July 7, 2016) surrounded by her family at John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center.
She was born in Monongalia County Nov. 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Franklin Stibler and Goldie Williams Stibler.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bacil Denver Prince, in March 2005. Frances graciously became her husband's sole caregiver for 18 years following his strokes in 1987.
She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition, she had worked at Fairmont General Hospital, Westinghouse Lamp Plant and as a custodian for the Benton's Ferry United Methodist Church where she was an active member for more than 60 years. She served as Sunday school teacher and was a member of the choir at the church. Frances enjoyed cooking and baking. She baked for all the church and community events in Benton's Ferry. Frances took great pride in baking for the Wesleyan Foundation. She enjoyed most spending time with her loving family and her cat, Miss Daisy Mae.
She was survived by two daughters, Julia "Missy" Esultante and her husband Joe of Fairmont and Brenda Starn and her husband John of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Heather Rooks and her husband James, Trudi Chickerell and her husband Issac, Joe Esultante and his companion Annie Martin and Sonya Esultante, all of Fairmont; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Rooks, Halie Rooks, Trevin Rooks, Jacob Roberts, Gunner Chickerell, Zander Esultante, and Annie's children, Zadia Martin and Aidan Martin.
Also surviving is her brother, Frank Stibler and his wife Marie of Fairmont; her sister, Margaret Graziani of Fairmont; two brothers-in-law, Robert Prince and Robert Spiker, both of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Elizabeth Spiker and Pauline Adams; three brothers-in-law, John Adams, Albert Graziani and Howard Bleigh; and a sister-in-law, Zelma Bleigh.
Mrs. Prince's family would like to give a special thanks to all of the staff at John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center for the kindness and compassion during her stay.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Rev. Andrew Tennant officiating. Interment will follow at the Linn Cemetery in Benton's Ferry.
