Evelyn Frances Hornick, 87, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday (April 19, 2017) at Pierpont Center at Fairmont.
She was born in Marion County, on June 1, 1929, a daughter of the late Carl and Gladys (Satterfield) DeBolt.
Mrs. Hornick graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1950. She worked as a nurse's aid at Fairmont General Hospital in her younger years. She retired from Westinghouse/North American Philips.
Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and collecting bells.
Friends and family will remember Evelyn as a pleasant lady who loved her family and her animals.
She is survived by her son, Carl Michael Sopranik and Jo Flaherty of Lexington, Kentucky; her daughter, Sunshine Hornick of Fairmont; her sister, Mary Whyte of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Micky Sopranik and his wife Chasity of Fairmont, Jeremy Sopranik and Molly Sopranik; great-grandchildren, Lexi Sopranik, Aiden Sopranik and Clarissa Ragar; and great-great-grandchildren, Aleeah, Mikhi and Zacarri.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl DeBolt and Carson Gene DeBolt; a daughter, Tina Sopranik; a granddaughter, Fame Cooper; and a grandson, Rodney Sopranik.
Evelyn's family would like to thank the staff at Pierpont Center for their exceptional care and support.
Mrs. Hornick's family is honoring her request for cremation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
