Eva Isabell (Clevenger) Hursey, age 89, of Harmony Grove Road, Grafton, passed away Wednesday (June 29, 2016) at the Wallace B. Nursing Home in Grafton.
She was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Arkie Scott Clevenger and Bertha (Rose) Clevenger.
She is survived by three children, Shirley Jean Robinson of Grafton, Mary Ann Boyles (Junior) of Grafton and James Edison "Eddie" Hursey (Dee) of Shinnston; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Telarski of Arizona; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Fetty (Paul) of Fairmont; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edison Hursey; two sisters, Artha McCarty and Leona Winters; two brothers, Ralph Clevenger and Harley Clevenger; and one sister-in-law, Shonnett Hursey.
Eva worked as an in-home care-giver for four years. She was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to her family. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, quilting and was given the Community Award from the Grafton Rotary Club.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery.
