Emza's Story

Emza M. Cook Parsons, 100, of Barrackville, passed away on Monday (May 2, 2016) at the Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Daybrook, June 1, 1915, daughter of the late Issac Cook and Minnie Beatrice Tennant Cook.
Emza was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard H. Parsons.
Emza is survived by her daughter, Brenda K. Stewart of Madison, Wisconsin; her granddaughter, Katrina Lynn Drake of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and her great-grandchildren, Raistlin and Willow Drake of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers and her sister.
Emza was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont and a graduate from Daybrook High School.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in Emza's memory to the American Foundation for the Blind, 1000 Fifth Ave., Suite 350, Huntington, WV 25701, or the American Association for the Deaf and Blind, P.O. Box 24493, Federal Way, WA 98093.
In accordance with Emza's wishes, there will be no public services. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont.
