Emmitt Willard Dobbins, 87, of Lemon Lane, Fairmont, passed away Monday afternoon in Fairmont Rehabilitation Center.
He was born May 23, 1929, in Baxter, son of the late Ressie Clay and Ouita Curtis Dobbins.
Mr. Dobbins was a member of Viola Church in Fairmont. He was a graduate of East Fairmont High School in 1947. Mr. Dobbins retired from Monongahela Power Co. as a lead lineman in 1987. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge of Fairmont and the Fairmont Eagles Club. He enjoyed participating in family activities, camping and working in the garden.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Drema and Gary Lipscomb of Bruceton Mills; a son and his wife, Bradley and Lisa Dobbins of Fairmont; six grandchildren and their spouses, Tina and Floyd Hardy of Wallace, Holly and Hobey Benson of Fairmont, Adam and Kristina Dobbins of Kansas City, Kansas, Clinton and Dessie Dobbins of Pittsburgh, Ashley Rose of Los Angeles, and Olivia Busch of Somerset, Pennsylvania; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Rita Dobbins of Morgantown; and special friends, Gene Parsons of Harrisville, Pennsylvania, and Ronnie Satterfield of Colfax Community.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Carl and Carroll Clay Dobbins.
Family and friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Krepps officiating. Burial will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown.
