Emalene Darrah, 93, of Grant Town, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 22, 2017) at her residence.
She was born June 14, 1923 in Barrackville, a daughter of the late Guy E. and Martha Yost Robison.
Emalene graduated from Fairview High School in 1944. She later received her LPN certification from Wayne School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinios. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, gardening, and collecting cookbooks. She was a member of the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ in Fairview where she taught the children's Bible class for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Linger and husband, Paul, of Fairmont and Pat Jones and husband, David of Grant Town; four grandchildren, Ben and Stephanie Jones, Mark and Megan Jones, Erin and Brian Everson, Amy Linger and Ana and Zackary Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Lydia and Samuel Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Chester Darrah on Aug. 18, 2014; three brothers, James, Carl and Etley Robison and two sisters, Mary Straight and Betty Gump.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today and from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ in Fairview. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Evangelists Ben Jones and Mark Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover. The family wants to thank Amedysis Hospice and a special friend, Staci Skinner.
