Elsie Ivy Moore Bearden died peacefully on Sunday (May 28, 2017) at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by her family in Ocala, Florida.
Elsie was born Jan. 19, 1920, in Elkins, to parents Isaac Moore and Rose Blankenship Moore.
She worked 25 years at Owens-Illinois in Fairmont.
Elsie married James Boyd Bearden of Carolina on Nov. 2, 1943, and they had a very happy 54 years together until James' death in 1998. They relocated to Ocala, Florida, in 1979 from Fairmont, and they enjoyed their retirement years in the Sunshine State.
Survivors include their only child, DeJaye (Delores) Lourenco (Jerry); grandchildren, Sarah Evans (Jake) and J.B. Lourenco; and great-granddaughter, Emma Evans.
Elsie and her family attended First United Methodist Church in Fairmont and also held special memories with her family and friends from Carolina.
Elsie was predeceased by her siblings, Virginia Moore Keener, Emory W. Moore, Anna Moore, Fred Moore, Delbert Turner, Henry Moore, Ollie Turner, Sylvester Turner and Glen Turner; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The viewing and memorial service was held at noon Friday, June 2 at Good Shepard Memorial Gardens in Ocala, Florida.
