Elizabeth "Libby" Koonce Toothman, 91, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (June 8, 2016) at the Tygart Center at Fairmont Campus.
She was born March 15, 1925, in Mannington, daughter of the late Arthur and Ella Mae Koonce.
She is survived by one daughter, Edwina Trotto and husband Doug of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Charli Utt and husband Ronnie of Fairmont and Christopher Steffich and wife Carla of Clarksburg; great-grandchildren, Joshua, John and Josiah Utt, Brent, Breanna and Elijah Steffich; and sisters-in-law, Midge Green, Betty Grant and Nancy Durst. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Toothman; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Reesman and wife Jean and Junior Reesman and wife Genieve.
Libby was a resident of the Tygart Center for the last eight years, where she became very close to the staff who provided her with so much care and love. She called many of them her "Turtle Dove" and loved them greatly.
She worked at Sixth Street Pharmacy and owned a day care where she helped raise many Fairmont area children. She attended the Trinity Assembly of God Church where her heart gave love, especially as the "nanny" of Children's Church. Libby's house was always open to many people, where there was always an abundance of food and love for everyone.
Libby donated her body to the Human Gift Registry. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Trinity Assembly of God.
At her request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Church: Trinity Assembly of God, 70 Maranatha Drive, Fairmont, WV 26554.
Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.domicofh.com.
