Edna M. Dillon, 88, of Morgantown, died Monday (May 16, 2016) in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Ms. Dillon was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Baxter, the daughter of James Oinos and Anna Less Oinos.
She was a graduate of WVU and would retire from there as an associate professor. She was an experienced traveler who loved to tell a good story and enjoyed meeting new people.
The pinnacle of her teaching career was the five years spent teaching at the American Embassy in Germany, which afforded her many opportunities for travel to neighboring countries. She was passionate about education, the environment, politics, family, friends and helping her fellow man. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, the League of Women Voters and the Soroptimist Club.
Ms. Dillon is survived by her niece, Valerie Head (Larry); nephews, Phil Oinos (Joan) and Michael Bosely (Vikki); sister-in-law, Katherine Oinos (John); and numerous great-nephews and -nieces.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Peter, James and John Oinos; and a sister, Lorraine Bosely.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 309 Baldwin St., Morgantown. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Amedisys Hospice in Morgantown.
