Doris Jean King, 86, of Kingmont Community, Fairmont, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (June 27, 2017).
She was born April 23, 1931, in Fairmont, to the late Leo Coen and Stella (Woods) Coen.
Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a former member of Kings Creek Union Chapel of Weirton and a member of Mount Harmony Community Church. Doris was also a member of the Ladies Aid and a dedicated Vacation Bible School director, walking door to door in the community to register children for VBS at Kings Creek Union Chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Roy E. King, of Fairmont; her sister, Mary Jo Farson and Charles, of Orlando, Florida; her daughter, Donna J. Lyness and Michael, of Morgantown; her son, Darryl L. King and Alicia, of Hurricane.
Doris is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin Luketic, Lauren Luketic, Tyler and Ciara King, and Katelynn King.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff and doctors of 10 East Stepdown at Ruby Memorial Hospital, the West Virginia Caring Hospice and Dr. Moss.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to West Virginia Caring Hospice Morgantown Office, 3363 University Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505.
A visitation service will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Ruth Hall officiating and will conclude at West Virginia National Cemetery.
