Donley 'Rusty' Shriver
Donley "Rusty" Shriver, 81, of Daybrook, passed away Wednesday (June 28, 2017) at the Tygart Center in Fairmont.
He was born May 27, 1936, in Daybrook, the son of the late Wilson "Peck" and Bonnie Shriver.
Donley was a former employee of Martinka Coal Co. He attended the Daybrook Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed flower beds, fish ponds and building bird houses.
Donley is survived by his wife, Lois Shriver; two children, Rodney Shriver of Blacksville, and Lori Shriver of Daybrook; seven grandchildren, Statton Shriver, Tristan Shriver, Savannah Gadd, Michael Gadd, Matthew Gadd, Deidre Bell and Morgan Beach and husband RJ; two great-grandchildren, Beau Beach and Judson Beach; brothers-in-law, Ray Allen and wife Austeen and Tom Allen and wife Amy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Shriver; two brothers, William "Bill" Shriver and Frank "Huz" Shriver; in-laws, Abe and Katherine Allen; brothers-in-law, Weldon Allen and David Allen; and a longtime friend, Jerry Brock.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Daybrook Methodist Church in Daybrook. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clay-Battelle varsity cheerleaders or middle school football.
