Dixie Lee Curtiss, 74, of Farmington, passed away Wednesday (April 27, 2016) at her residence.
She was born Nov. 25, 1941, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Edith Ferguson.
Dixie was employed by Firestone in Akron, Ohio, as a clerical worker for many years. She was also employed as a security guard in Ohio. After relocating to West Virginia, she worked at Aegis in Fairmont and Unity Apartments. She was an avid cat lover.
Survivors include a half-brother, Basil (Wanda) Ruckle of Fairview; a nephew, Craig (Melissa) Ruckle and their daughter Laila Ruckle; a niece, Rebecca Ruckle and her son Levi Ruckle; and a special friend and caregiver, Louise Smith, with whom she made her home.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Charles Emory and Nora May Teets Curtiss; and a nephew, Adam Ruckle.
There will be no public viewing or visitation. Cremation services have been entrusted to Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington.
