Denise Michelle Romano, 51, of Fairmont, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday (Sept. 30, 2017) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born in Fairmont on March 14, 1966, a daughter of the late David A. Satterfield and Beverly Ann (Rogers) Satterfield.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, Jeffrey Romano.
Denise was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. She had worked as a teacher at Kids are Special for 12 years. She was most recently employed as an office assistant at Ridge Runner in Winfield Community. Denise was a faithful member of H&H Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and spending time at Big Bear Lake camping. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Gianna, whom she adored and called the light of her life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Whittney Romano and her fiancé, Jeremy Myers of Fairmont, Brittany Romano and her boyfriend, Brice Fisher also of Fairmont; and her very special granddaughter, Gianna Myers of Fairmont.
Also surviving are two brothers, Rick Satterfield and his wife Brenda of Fairmont and Douglas Satterfield and his wife Nicole of Kentucky; her sister, Kathy Toothman and her husband Darrell of Fairmont; two sisters-in-law and their spouses, Crystal and Scott Kniceley of Morgantown, Traci and Chris Dulin of Morgantown; her mother-in-law, Sandra Romano of Fairmont; several caring nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many faithful and true friends; and her faithful dog, Daisy.
In addition to her parents, Denise was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Anthony "Babe" Romano and a brother-in-law, Stephen Romano.
Denise's family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the H&H Chapel United Methodist Church, 141 Mount Harmony Road Fairmont. The memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 S. High Street, Morgantown WV 26501 (Marion Unit).
