David Gay Wright, age 52, of Fairview, passed away on Wednesday (Aug. 10, 2016) at his residence after a three-year courageous battle with kidney failure.
He was born Oct. 2, 1963, in Fairmont, the son of Dorothy Mae Toothman Wright Cogar of Farmington and stepfather Robert Cogar and the late George William Wright Jr.
David is also survived by his wife of 14 years, Jennifer Nestor Wright; stepson, Darick Hibbs and fiancé Ashley Martin of Fairmont; granddaughter, Kyla Hibbs; two sisters, Diane and Gary Masters of Colfax and Debra Powell of Metz; a son-in-law, John Zogol of Preston County; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; his dog, Jackie; his mother-in-law, Janetta Brown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Jason Nestor of Fairmont; and his cousin and close friend, Rusty Toothman of Mannington.
In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Tausha Zogol; his maternal grandparents, Gay and Daisy Toothman; and his paternal grandparents, George and Eva Wright.
David was employed at Federal No. 2 Coal Mine. He enjoyed NASCAR and camping at Bergoo when was able to.
There will be no visitation or funeral services as cremation was chosen per David's request.
