David Lynn Holbert, 70, of Fairmont, passed away April 13, 2017, at Grafton City Hospital in Grafton.
He was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Weston, a son of the late George B. and Eloise VanHorn Holbert.
After serving 25 years with the U.S. Air Force, he retired from the State of West Virginia, working in the Department of Veteran's Affairs.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Temple of Stonewood. In addition to serving as a volunteer in the Marion County Honor Guard, he enjoyed bowling and football. Most of all, David liked time spent with family, and he loved his two cats, Molly and Mitzi.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Gloria Hardy Holbert of Fairmont; two sons, Gary A. Holbert of Maryland and Mark E. Holbert and his wife Tiffany of Virginia; his daughter, Teresa Kirk and her husband Casey of Florida; one sister, Rebecca Hoffman of Bridgeport; six grandchildren, Kimberlin, Kaitlin, Kylar, Preston, Addison and Isabelle; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bible Baptist Temple in Stonewood. A memorial service will be at the church at noon Saturday with Pastor Charles Madaus and Bob Setler officiating. Flag-folding services will be at the church and conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard.
