Cheryl Lucille Wood, 57, of Fairmont, passed away at her residence Friday (April 8, 2016).
She was born May 6, 1958, in Washington, D.C., daughter of Barbara Lucille Dye Moorfield of Fairmont and the late Joseph Henry Weiss.
Cheryl attended Trinity Assembly of God Church and was formerly employed as a bookkeeper in the accounting department of the Rockville Nursing Home. She was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens. Cheryl enjoyed watching drag racing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, David Wayne Wood; her mother, Barbara Moorfield of Fairmont; two sons, David Wood Jr. and wife Jamie of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, and Daniel Wayne Wood and wife Megan of Nutter Fort; a stepsister, Janet Cochran and husband Bill of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Wayne Norman Weiss and wife Tracie of Kingmont and Joseph Henry Weiss Jr. of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Maddix Joseph Wood, Braxton William Wood, Tyler Jonathan Wood and Devon James Wood; nieces and nephews, Beth Weiss, Michael Weiss, Tyler Weiss, Brandon Weiss and Christopher Singer and wife Sherea; and great-nieces and -nephews, Joshua Dougherty, Kaylee and Evan Weiss and Adeline Singer.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Claude Edward Moorfield.
The family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. Sunday and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jerome Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Joseph Weiss Jr., Wayne Weiss, Daniel Wood, Davey Wood, Tyler Weiss and Brandon Weiss.
