Charlotte Rena "Tossel" Myers, 52, of Kellytown, died Saturday (April 22, 2017) at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following an extended illness.
She was born July 16, 1964, in Fairmont, a daughter of Steve Barta Jr. of Idamay and Charlotte Ann Booth Robinson, Idamay.
Tossel attended North Marion High School and Webster College. She enjoyed boating and fishing and family cookouts and attended Jewel City Church before her health prevented her from doing so.
Survivors include her husband, David Wayne Myers; two children, David Allen Myers and fiancée Megan of Kellytown and Jessica Marie Myers and Brian Munson of Idamay; two brothers, Steve "Bubba" (Frances) Barta III of Kellytown and James Lee "Jimmy" (Lisa) Barta of Idamay; a granddaughter whom she loved dearly, Isabella "Bella" Sophia Ann Munson; two nephews, Jimmy Barta and Charles Henry Barta (whom she helped to raise); a special cousin, Rose Barta Skinner; sister-in-law, Kathy (Mark) Hudson of Fairmont; brother-in-law, Terry (Anna) Myers of Barrackville; uncles, Bucky Booth and Junie Booth; an aunt, Lucy Barta Wells; and several extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Myers Sr., and her mother-in-law, Sharon Hornick; a brother-in-law, Johnny Myers Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Steve and Stella Barta Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Jessie Hess and Glen Booth; and two uncles, Sonny and Nick Barta.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Josh Carlisle officiating.
