Betty Lou Reaser, 65, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday (Oct. 11, 2016) at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Fairmont, on Jan. 28, 1951, a daughter of the late Jacob "Cub" and Reeva Verelene Brown VanGilder.
She enjoyed quilting and crafts. She was known for detail in decorating for the holidays. She especially enjoyed flea markets with her son and time with family. She was proud to be remodeling her family home. Betty was retired from the Ford Motor Co. engine plant in Cleveland, Ohio.
She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, LeRoy Reaser of Fairmont; one son, Rodney Stone and his wife Glenda of Ohio; one daughter, Darlene Stone of Ohio; four brothers, Kenneth VanGilder and his wife Lucille of Fairmont, Harold VanGilder and his wife Adeline of Maryland, Donald "Gene" VanGilder and his wife Pam of Fairmont, and Ronald VanGilder of Fairmont; two sisters, Mary Newman and her husband Ralph of Fairmont and Patty Thompson of Maryland; four grandchildren, Brittany Stone USMC, Kalya Stone, Kim Stone and Bryan Stone; one great-granddaughter, Allison Stone; several nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law, Ewell Whiseman of Huntington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence "Punk" VanGilder and Paul Earl VanGilder; one sister, Rozanna "Rose" Whiseman; and one brother-in-law, James Moore.
Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Barker and Evangelist Pat Tanner officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
