Audrey Kay Hurst Boccabello, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully Sunday (May 22, 2016), surrounded by family she loved.
Kay was born in Clarksburg on Nov. 27, 1947. She graduated from Bridgeport High School and had worked as owner/operator of a hairstyling salon for many years before entering the field of real estate/property management.
She so loved her family and was happiest while spending time with her grandchildren who were the apple of her eye. Kay enjoyed interior decorating and gardening and always kept a lovely home for her family. She also loved to support and root for the West Virginia Mountaineers' football and basketball teams.
She is survived by David, her loving husband of 49 years; her son, Jeremy (Tricia); grandchildren, Nancy and William; her dear sister-in-law, Linda Hurst; along with her daughter-in-law, Nicole Peery; and her precious grand girls, Jessica Marie, Ryan Kay and Elizabeth Kaye Boccabello. She also leaves behind a sister, Jean Richards; her loving extended family; and her best of friends, Cynde Freeland and Libby Williams, whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her son, Nick; father, Heza Clifford Hurst; her mother, Edith Hurst Ash; and her brothers, Ronald Hurst and Donald Hurst.
In lieu of a memorial service, Kay asked that we remember her by considering the claims of our creator, Jesus Christ, to accept his invitation to become a child of God by admitting you are a sinner, acknowledging one's need for forgiveness and praying to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior in order to become eternally born again. Kay was always thankful that she had made this decision years before. She chose to live her life honoring her Lord, knowing that her name would now be found recorded in "The Book of Life" on Judgment Day, being confident that being absent from the body she would be present with her Lord as she passed from this world into eternal life.
