Andrew "Junior" Delligatti, 86, of Maplewood Drive, Fairmont, passed away Wednesday evening in Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Fairmont, son of the late Andy and Rose Baphano Delligatti.
Mr. Delligatti was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fairmont. He was very active with the Knights of Columbus. Junior was a graduate of St. Peters High School in Fairmont. He received his diploma in industrial engineering from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was employed with Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He later opened the Fairmont Grill on Main Street, Fairmont, with 25 years of service as the owner and operator. Junior was also involved in real estate in the area.
Later in his life in 1985, he became a resident of Melbourne, Florida, living there for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to spend time at his cabin in Smoke Hole.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Delligatti of Fairmont; several nieces and nephews, including, David Tyson of Huntington, Patty and her husband Robert Gibhert of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Taffy Magnifico of Jacksonville, Florida, and Michael and his wife Linda Magnifico of Boston, Massachusets.
He is also survived by several great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and their husbands, Gloria and Pete Magnifico, Norma and Dick Tyson; and a nephew, John Magnifico.
Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today with Deacon Lou Belldina officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father S.A. Arokiadass as celebrant. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont. The Marion County Veterans will observe full military rites at the graveside.
