Agnes "Marie"'s Story
Agnes "Marie" Morgan, 75, of Fairmont, died Friday (March 24, 2017) at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born May 1, 1941 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Orval and Clara Wycoff Sturgeon.
Marie was a homemaker who loved sitting on her porch and feeding the wild birds, as well as listening to her gospel music on Sundays.
Survivors include a son William (Susan) Smith of North Carolina; three daughters, Brenda Basinger of North Carolina, Esther (Eddie) Glendenning of Fairmont and Tammy (Matt) Slater of Rivesville; two brothers, Leslie and David Sturgeon, both of Fairmont; two sisters, Sandra Michael of Florida and Linda Sturgeon and companion, Brian Campbell of Virgina; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and her special little adopted granddaughter "Punky".
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, George and William Sturgeon; two sisters, Margaret Derbe and Ethel Glover; a son-in-law: Michael Basinger; three grandsons, Landyn, Carl and Carson and her longtime companion, Carl Stewart.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
