Wilmer Waitman Stewart, Jr., 59 of Buckhannon, formerly of Mannington, died Friday (Sept. 1, 2017) at his residence. He was born Dec. 7, 1959 at Fairmont, a son of the late Wilmer Waitman Stewart, Sr. and Mabel Sophronia White Stewart.
Wilmer is survived by his daughter, Samantha Waitman Stewart Efaw; two sons, Michael Wilmer Waitman Stewart and Phillip Andrew Waitman Stewart, all of Salt Lick, Mannington; and three grandchildren, Remington Efaw, Derenger Efaw and Hunter Shelosky. He is also survived by the mother of his children, LaDonna Kay Stewart, of Salt Lick, Mannington.
In addition to his parents, Wilmer was preceded in death by a daughter, LaDonna Jo Ann Stewart.
Wilmer was employed at Consolidated Coal Co. as an equipment operator, retiring from Loveridge No. 22 mine, and was a member of the UMWA. He was an avid ham radio operator. Wilmer was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. with Branch President Bill Foley officiating. Burial will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
