Wilma Dana Stanley, 98, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (April 5, 2017) at Pleasant Acres Christian Haven.
She was born at Jake's Run in Monongalia County on Aug. 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Calvin C. Eddy and Amanda Ellen (McCord) Eddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey C. Stanley.
Dana graduated from Fairview High School Class of 1936 and the Fairmont Business College. She had worked as a secretary at several places in the Fairmont area including the Draft Board during World War II, Consolidation Coal Co. Store, Wallman Accounting, Kisner Construction, Jones Department Store and was last employed at the Fairmont TV Cable Co. She was a faithful member of the Oakwood Road Church of Christ.
She and her late husband enjoyed spending many winters in Sanford, Florida, where they attended the Sanford Church of Christ. Her many interests included hooking rugs, doing ceramics, knitting and bowling.
She is survived by her daughter, Daryl C. Sturm of Fairmont; her granddaughter, Darby McDonald and her husband, Kevin of Florida; and two special grandchildren, Emerson Lane McDonald and Miles Ye-Seong McDonald.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dana was preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Evan Sturm; her brother, Wiley Denzil Eddy; and her sister, Elnora Davenport.
A special thanks to Pleasant Acres Christian Haven for their loving care of Mrs. Stanley. Her family has honored her request for cremation and private services.
